FRED BALDA

President of Hillwood Communities

As President of Hillwood Communities, Fred Balda oversees Hillwood’s master-planned residential communities throughout Dallas/Fort Worth. One of the top providers of single-family lots in Dallas-Fort Worth, Hillwood Residential is currently developing thirteen communities in the most desirable locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Since its inception, Hillwood Residential has delivered more than 17,000 lots in 25 cities.

Hillwood Communities offers exciting neighborhoods, adding well-planned landscaping and amenities and establishing homeowners’ associations that create opportunities for community involvement. Hillwood invites only the most highly-regarded home builders to participate in its master-planned communities. Balda continues to actively pursue opportunities for acquisition of undeveloped property throughout the Texas market to add to the residential portfolio.

Most recently, Balda took advantage of two unique situations to undertake the high-end custom home market. One is located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, called the Bar BC Ranch. This beautiful property, right in the middle of the Grand Tetons, offers a limited number of ranch sites with exacting restrictions that require a minimum impact to the environment. The second property holds a prestigious address at the crossroads of some of Dallas’s most coveted neighborhoods. The Creeks of Preston Hollow is a gated neighborhood with only 17 estate lots and is poised to become a true Dallas real estate legend.

Balda joined Hillwood in 1992 as a project manager and also served as a vice president. He has been responsible for the development and management of many master-planned residential communities.

Balda began his real estate career with the residential division of Trammell Crow Company in 1985 as a project manager, overseeing the entitlement and lot development for its residential communities. He continued his career with Club Corporation of America, managing the entitlement and development of golf course communities.

Balda is a member of several professional organizations, including the Real Estate Council, Plano Developers Council, Home and Apartment Builders, Tarrant County Builders Association, the City of Fort Worth Parks Task Force, ULI, NAHB and the YMCA Steering Committee.
